Obituary for Edward Allen Watkins
Edward A. Watkins, age 69 of Chester, died Wednesday, April 24,2019 at Chippenham Hospital with heart failure. He is survived by his daughter Tracy Watkins, grandchildren Nicholas Bailey and Alexandria Bailey, sister Patty VanAsh, Karen Rieger, and Donna Pemberton, and brothers Kelly Watkins, Curtis Watkins, and Bobby Watkins. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Curtis Watkins, and his wives Darlene Watkins and his Laura Watkins.
Ed was born in Pierre, South Dakota, and served in the United States Navy after high school graduation. In 1988 he and his wife Laura moved to Richmond, Virginia to work at the family business. He retired in 2016 in order to spend more quality time with his best friend and wife, Laura. Ed always had a smile for everyone and was telling jokes up to the very end.
